Seated in the City of Seguin, there are over 12 cities and unincorporated communities within Guadalupe County with 711 square miles of land area.

Elected and appointed officials live and work in the community they serve and effectively oversee services and social programs for its residents with the management of public health and safety, a county justice system, and maintenance of roads and bridges. The governing body is the Commissioners Court comprised of the county judge and four commissioners who serve a diverse population.
